When we think about organizing our house, sometimes, we can get strange feelings of laziness or even tiredness just because now we have to leave our comfort zone and start to go over each room of the house, picking up the mess everywhere. Still, the reality is that today more than ever, we can get tips and easy solutions to keep our homes tidy and clean.

Let us navigate together ways to create a sanctuary in our homes; at the end of the day, this is the place where we spend more time and not just that this is the only place where we can be just ourselves, with all our imperfections and personalities, so make sense that we have a nice clean place to come back after a long or heavy journey outside either after work, school or just running an errand around.

What if we divide our week and start one space at a time?

Come with me!

THAT KITCHEN!

One of the most challenging areas in the house because it seems like is a forever job there, and it never ends; at the moment that you have everything clean and fresh, your sink is piled again with dirty dishes but happy bellies around the house, I have few tips to help you up on this.

When you start preparing your meal, make sure that everything that you are using is placed on the sink or the scratch from the food that you are cooking is being disposed of while you are still preparing your food; this simple trick would help to keep the kitchen organized while you are on the preparation for your dinner.

After you are done, and the food is on the stove or oven, start cleaning the utensils that you used, so after you enjoyed your meal, the only thing that is going to be on the sink are the dishes from the table and that my dear is a piece of cake to clean.

PANTRY

I don’t know you, but I have no space in my pantry at all to put the vast amount of containers that I have with all the rare and unique ingredients that I use to cook every day for my family, and here is the reason behind that and is because I am former nutritionist, so make sense that number one: I cook every day and number two: I do it in a very healthy way to a need all the ingredients out there in my pantry.

So I find that the safes way is to keep everything on BPA free and sealed containers instead f glass; I can’t tell you how many accidents I had before whit jars falling on top of me and crashing on the floor, so that’s something that you should consider, the other tip is to label everything because whenever you need someone helping you to reach something for you, they will find it because at least is labeled haha (you know it is true).

When you bring the groceries, refill each container, and in that way, you can keep the pantry looking great.

CLOSETS LIKE A PRO, OR SHOULD I SAY LIKE A BOUTIQUE?

Closet

It is annoying to go over everything you have hanging in your closet or inside your cabinets. Still, I would recommend at least every six months dedicate 15 minutes to clear your wardrobe to form clothes that you aren’t using anymore, or to put aside the sessional clothes that for sure you are not going to use in summer, find a good charity to donate everything that is coming out from your closet.

Separate your clothes for colors and style, like dresses, pants and jeans, jackets and cardigans,

Boots and booties, wedges and sandals, you got my point.

PLAYROOM OR MESS ROOM?

Playroom

Let’s be honest; when you have kids, you would have areas in your house that will never look organized for more than a couple of hours when they are at school or taking a nap, and that’s ok. We don’t need to feel stressed all the time because of this; hey, you have kids, which means you have a blessing.

One of the things that for sure have been working for me is creating a unique space for them to play and keep their favorite toys; we call Play & Learning room; we do activities that involve learning while playing, and they love it, on top of that I got a giant good looking basket to put another set of toys on the living room and the rules are to keep that magic basket there is to keep the toys in place while they are not playing with them, is a win for them because they can play while I’m cooking and for me because I don’t have to deal with toys everywhere around the house.

At the end of the blog, I will link you to my favorite organizers in the play learning room.
