How to Prepare my Home for the Holidays
The holiday session is around the corner, and you might feel overloaded already, so calm down. I am here to help and give tips to make this time of the year enjoyable and easy.
Let’s be honest. We all know that every year we start panicking over the fact that we are either going to host the gathering or attend one; in both cases, you want to make sure that you cause an excellent impression.
First thing first, you must start with a plan. Otherwise, you are going to do a lot without getting anywhere, so you need to have a good idea of the number of people coming to your house and what dishes you will be serving, if anyone is helping you to cook any dish or not, and also check how is your home looking for the holidays.
So now I am sure you will appreciate the tips I’m about to share with you.
1-GIFT SHOPPING STRATEGIES
Starting early with the shopping process is critical for successful time management, especially during this busy time.
Make a list of the people you plan on giving something to, and diversify in family, friends, and work.
Make sure you have a pretty good idea of the gifts and budget for what you are planning on getting, so whenever you are searching for deals online or hunting them at the store, you will get the best chance to find what you are looking for at the best price.

2-DEEP CLEAN YOUR HOUSE
Nothing more embarrassing than hosting a party with a dirty house, so let’s get into action before the holidays start, you don’t need to do it all at once, but ill recommend you pick two days per week for at least 3-4 hours to deep clean your kitchen, social areas, and bathrooms.
3-SHIFHT THE DECORATION FOR THE NEW SEASON
As much as we love to decorate for the new season, we must embrace the fact that our house is going to look a bit messy during the process, so one good tip is to divide the house into areas to decor, starting with the extensive site like living and dining rooms, I also love to check on new trends and color themes, to get inspired beforehand.
4-SAFETY FIRST
Since we love placing trees and lights all around our house, we also must be careful not to overflow our energy outlets.
Make sure you use lights with timers; that way, you can save energy and keep your safety in check.
Remember that indoor extension cords aren’t ideal for outdoors, so make sure you use the right extension cord for each area.
Please remember to test your fireplace before lighting it for the first time.
5-GET THE GUEST ROOM READY
If you are like me, you most likely have some stuff here and there in the guest room because it is that place on the house that you don’t need to keep up with, well when holiday time is here, that’s the room that needs a big part of our attention, so plan about cleaning, change bedding and prep the bath for your soon to arrive visitors.
I hope you have a great time enjoying your family and loved ones during this holiday session.
Always here for you!
